ABOUT

Tom Schellmann is a freelance theater maker, set and costume designer, and performer. His artistic work explores autobiographical performances and sustainable spatial concepts, focusing on inclusion, social stigmatization, and collaborative processes. He is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary collective HOWHOW, founded in 2020. The pieces operate in the interplay between physical music theater and vocal performance.

After gaining initial experience at the Theater der Stadt Aalen and the Haller Academy of Arts, he studied set and costume design at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 2016 to 2022, completing his postgraduate studies in 2024 while already engaging in numerous freelance projects.

His works have been presented at venues such as Festspielhaus Hellerau, Frankfurt LAB, Schauspiel Köln, Theater Ulm, and Cammerspiele Leipzig. Tom Schellmann lives and works in Dresden.
